What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy is about using creative self-expression with visual art materials for therapeutic purposes. The art therapist guides the group through art directives and discussion within a safe and non-judgmental environment. The art therapy group is a time and space to explore one's self through the exploration of art materials and therapeutic techniques. Therefore art therapy is not about the finished product, it is about the process through.

Participation in this art therapy session can offer lasting benefits to students, through guided emotional exploration, empathic discussions, and therapeutic art techniques. This group will provide students with the space to relax from the stress of university and of being in a transitory point in their lives.
