OCAD University at Art Toronto 2018 

OCAD U will be participating as a cultural partner at this year’s Art Toronto at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, October 26 to 29. Now in its 19th year, Art Toronto is Canada’s international contemporary and modern art fair, presenting important artwork from leading Canadian and international galleries.

OCAD U’s presence at the fair is an entrepreneurial opportunity for graduates to sell their work and to showcase the high calibre of talent at the university. OCAD U’s Booth # B03 is funded by the Ada Slaight Foundation and supported by OCAD U Graduate Studies. It will feature the work of 11 recent graduates from the Faculty of Art in Drawing & Painting, Sculpture/Installation, Cross-Disciplinary Life Studies and Photography, as well as Interdisciplinary Master’s in Art Media & Design.

Presenting Artists:

Julia Balfour, Laura Dawe, Brandon Fujimagari, Court Gee, Gabrielle Leighton, Maisha Marshall-Ende, Kristin Morthens, Mira Marie Pedari, Josi Smit, Adelaide Thorhallsdottir & Cristine Yunyk

The selection of artwork is juried by a curatorial team of current graduate and undergraduate students with faculty lead Natalie Waldburger. The curatorial team, facilitated and supervised by OCAD U alum Tak Pham (CCP 2016), includes Erica Cristobal (CCP), Kristi Poole-Adler (IAMD), McKenna Gray (CRCP) and Jessica Turner (CRCP).

The Gardiner Museum welcome applications to the Impact and Engagement Assistant position. The Impact and Engagement Assistant reports to the Programs Manager, and is a member of the Curatorial, Education & Programs team. This position is responsible for supporting the public engagement by increasing awareness of the Community Arts Space (CAS). They will work in collaboration with Gardiner staff, CAS neighbourhood hubs, OCADU, and other key stakeholders.
