Stop Motion Animation: Paper Puppets Workshop with Nikole Hidalgo
This workshop is an introduction to the rewarding experience of making an animation using paper cutouts. The workshop will start hands on the building of a jointed paper puppet that, when well built, can be reused through out the length of an animated short production. When the puppets are ready, we will discuss other paper animation techniques for creating backgrounds and other effects. There will be a revision of the software to used to facilitate the animation process. Finally, we will shoot a small sequence with our
newly created paper puppet. All materials will be provided. Students can bring photos and drawings to use as reference or a the base of their puppet.
Workshops are free and open to current students at OCAD U.
This workshop series is presented in partnership by the OCAD U Library's Learning Zone and the Writing & Learning Centre and supported by funding from the First Generation Program, administered by the WLC.
