Please note that throughout this week, the main entrance (on McCaul Street) to the Experiential Learning Centre in the Rosalie Sharp Pavilion at 115 McCaul Street will be closed periodically to facilitate the safety requirements of installing a section of scrim onto the exterior of the building.  During these closure periods, members of the OCAD U community will be able to access the building from the north entrance on Dundas Street for the duration of the work.Personnel will be on site to help direct the community.

The closure times are anticipated to be from 7 a.m. to approximately 3:30 a.m. on the days listed below. However, these times may change depending on a variety of factors.

  • Tuesday, October 23
  • Wednesday, October 24
  • Thursday, October 25*
  • Friday, October 26
  • Saturday, October 27**

Note that these closures impact the accessible entrance to the building, and while the elevators will remain functioning throughout this period, building users who enter from the north entrance will be required to go down half a flight of stairs to access the facilities and the elevator. However, throughout the week, if there is a need for someone to access the elevator due to mobility or other similar needs, the construction work will be paused temporarily to provide access and a guard on site will facilitate access to the southwest entrance (on McCaul Street).

* On Thursday, October 25, the installation work involves a crane for lifting materials onto the building. The sidewalk on the east side of McCaul Street adjacent to the Experiential Learning Centre will be completely closed. Traffic and pedestrian activity on the west side of McCaul Street will be temporarily impacted while any materials are being lifted over the street (approximately 1 hour). Traffic management services will be on site to direct the community.

** The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is closed on Saturdays, but students accessing thesis space on Levels 1 and 2 will continue on the weekend with authorized key card access.

OCAD U thanks our community members and neighbours for their patience as this work is completed.

Questions or concerns may be directed to the Creative City Campus Project Team at creativecitycampus@ocadu.ca.
