Statement from President Diamond on the tragic incident at Yonge and Finch

Wednesday, April 25, 2018

On behalf of the OCAD University community, I extend our deepest condolences to the victims of the shocking act of violence that took place on Monday April 23, as well as to their families, friends and colleagues.

I am struck by the calm and courage of the first responders on the scene, and the kindness of local residents and bystanders who offered their help to anyone who needed it.

This tragedy has affected so many of us, but I know our city has a deep well of compassion and resiliency that will enable us to remain steadfast and openhearted as a community.

If you wish to offer support, Mayor John Tory and the City of Toronto have partnered with Toronto Foundation to establish the #TorontoStrong Fund to coordinate donations to help victims and their families.
