Wednesday, November 16, 2016 - 4:00pm to Friday, November 18, 2016 - 8:00pm
Through an initiative by students Oliver Roberts, Sofy Mesa, and Art and Social Change, OCAD U Campus Life is helping collaborate the collection of WINTER COATS, SOCKS, AND ALL LONG SLEEVE SHIRTS, JACKETS, AND PANTS for the Allan Gardens Community Lunch and Clothing Closet.
As the season begins to change, it is imperative that our clothing closet changes as well to meet the needs of those of us facing homelessness and poverty in downtown Toronto. Please donate any CLEAN, gently used winter clothing.

ABOUT ARTIVISM:
(Formerly ART & SOCIAL CHANGE STUDENT COMMITTEE) Artivism OCAD U is a group of OCAD U students and alumni whose goal is to unify social justice and its integration into artistic practice. We put into the forefront urgent matters affecting the student body, staff and faculty on campus. Some of these issues include (but are not limited to) environmental justice, sexual violence, student poverty and housing, combating racism, as well as decolonizing the curriculum. Through various student-led initiatives, we aim to raise awareness of equity and accessibility issues, and build a strong social justice community on campus.
Tuesday, October 17, 2017 - 10:00am to Thursday, October 19, 2017 - 4:00pm
We are looking for gently used or new:
> pants/tights
> long-sleeves
> sweaters
> jackets
> hats/gloves/mittens
> t-shirts
> socks
> and winter accessories
All donations will be distributed at the Allan Garden Food and Clothing Share (Sundays, 12-3 PM, Allan Gardens, Sherbourne/Carlton Streets).
As the city of Toronto continuously shuts down shelters and emergency services to our friends in homeless or low-income situations, and as rates and rent rise unrelentingly amidst a city bursting with wealth and austerity, we turn to community to help in hard times. We hope to see you soon, and with peace to all. Please spread the word and let your friends and family know!"
* This is a student-run initiative, three years running, which #ocaducampuslife is pleased to help promote.
Got an extra winter coat you're not using? Some extra warm socks?
