Our Food Systems - Are you Hungry for Change?

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Sustainability Initiatives (ODESI) in collaboration with Faculty, Learning Zone, Student Union and grOCAD is proud to be participating in David Suzuki Foundation’s Blue Dot Tour (bluedot.ca) hosted by the National Film Board (NFB) and Humber College, focusing on food systems. The Blue Dot tour is a cross country tour movement to recognize every Canadian’s right to live in a healthy environment, which includes the access to clean water, fresh air and healthy food.

Presentation

11:00 am: Opening remarks by Roberto Chiotti (Sustainability Officer, Faculty of Design) and Minesh Mandoda (Coordinator, Sustainability Initiatives)

11.15 am: Film Screening of Tanya Davis’ film ‘Island Green’. Documentary on agricultural industry and organic farming.

12.00 pm: Panel discussion (live stream) featuring David Suzuki, 100-Mile Diet co-author J.B. MacKinnon and food justice expert Utcha Sawyers

FREE FOOD will be provided by Student Union’s Hot Lunch initiative with a suggested food donation to OCAD SU Starving Artist Pantry.
