the distance between looks to the border of shared experience and questions how intimacy, while making this border tangible, may also act upon it in subtle ways. Through video and projection installation, spaces are created to incorporate a suggested choreography of interplay between viewer and object and to trigger curiosity in what happens in the spaces in-between oneself and another, oneself and the world.

Kelly O’Neill’s work is about body, relationship, materiality, identity and border. Within these broad terms she looks to subtleties, the poetic, in an effort to uncover understanding. Working with assemblage and text, video and projection, and incorporating traditional textile methods with unconventional materials, she creates objects and experiences that explore the fluidity and impermeability of embodied experience.

Kelly is currently completing her BFA in Sculpture and Installation at OCAD University. This exhibition presents the body of work she has been building for her final Thesis project.
