The Equity Initiatives department of the Law Society of Ontario, the provincial regulator for lawyers and paralegals have invited Ilene Sova, Ada Slaight Chair of Contemporary Drawing and Painting to speak to their constituents. She has been asked to do an artist talk about the Missing Women Project, a series of 32 paintings of missing women from Ontario. The discussion will explore the studio research that led Sova to a deeper understanding of the intersections of societal values that contribute to violence against women in our local communities. The event will take place on December 6th from 12:00 to 1:00 at Osgoode Hall to commemorate the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
