Theme

Community, Liberty, the liberation of food and life, The goal of the Mural is to bring art and creativity to the space in an imaginative way considering this theme. About Longo’s: Longo’s is a family-run grocery chain in the GTA founded in 1956 by Italian immigrant brothers Joe, Tommy and Gus Longo, who immigrated to Canada in 1951 from Termini Sicily. They established their first store in Toronto and had eight family members working there. Today’s Longo’s represents an evolution of fresh food experiences based on a tradition of quality, service, and value that started in 1956. Now, three generations later, Longo’s has grown its footprint to encompass 24 conventional stores, five smaller urban format stores branded The Market by Longo’s, and an online grocery business dubbed Grocery Gateway.
