Reconciliation: The Role of Educators in Postsecondary Education

Dr. Sheila Cote-Meek is the Associate Vice-President, Academic & Indigenous Programs at Laurentian University where she is responsible for university faculty relations as well as leading the development of Indigenous academic development across various disciplines including the development of an Indigenous Education Centre dedicated to Indigenous learning, culture and scholarly pursuit at Laurentian University. A full professor in her home department, the School of Rural and Northern Health, she has developed expertise in Indigenous relations in the areas of health, education and research. Sheila is a member of the Teme-Augama Anishnabai.

Professional Development Day for Student-Facing Staff

Saturday, November 2, 2013 - 1:00am

Hosted by the Office of the Associate Vice-President, Students

Learn from your colleagues who will share their knowledge and perspectives. Develop opportunities to collaborate and enhance the student experience at OCAD U. Attend the whole day, a single session, or anything in between. My overview presentation will be repeated (morning and afternoon.) A light lunch is provided and everyone is encouraged to join us at a local pub at the end of the day for a little mingling.

The day is designed for administrative staff at OCAD U who work with students, whether or not you're part of the Student Affairs portfolio. (Staff are encouraged to get clearance from supervisors to attend; faculty are welcome if interested.)
