Call for Submissions: First Generation Student Exhibition & Publication

OCAD U First Generation students from all undergraduate programs are invited to submit work on the theme of MIGRATION for this year's exhibition and publication. Accepted works will be on display in the Learning Zone from March 22nd to March 30th, and will be printed in our publication. 

This year's theme is Migration, meaning "movement from one part to another". This theme can be interpreted in any medium, including writing. 

To apply, email wlc@ocadu.ca with the following:

  • one high-resolution colour image (1500x1500 px minimum) of your work. **Note that the publication will be printed in two-tone risography, therefore please keep in mind that your work should read well as a greyscale image.
  • Title, medium, and year of your work.
  • Your full name, student number, program, and year of study. 

Deadline: midnight of January 15, 2018.

*First Generation refers to students who are first in their family to attend university.

Among All These Tundras - Onsite Gallery
A capacity crowd gathered to attend the opening of Onsite Gallery’s latest exhibition, ᐊᕙᑖᓂᑦ ᑕᒪᐃᓐᓂᑦ ᓄᓇᑐᐃᓐᓇᓂᑦ / Among All These Tundras. The exhibition, on until December 7, 2019, features contemporary art by twelve Indigenous artists from around the circumpolar world.

Winning designs in 'I Voted' sticker competition
In the lead up to the upcoming 2019 federal election, OCAD University and Instagram have teamed up to encourage Canadians to participate in the election. This past spring, OCAD and Instagram launched the “I Voted” sticker competition, which provided design students at OCAD U and NSCAD with an opportunity to design an Instagram Story sticker that will allow Canadians to share their voting experience with the rest of the Instagram community. The sticker will also link to timely Election Day information on when and where Canadians can vote.
