Congratulations to Eugenia Chan (Material Art & Design 2018) and Elise Conlin (Illustration 2019) who were presented with awards at the recent 2019 Toronto Outdoor Art Fair (TOAF).

Elise received the 2019 Student Purchase Award, judged by House of IDEA and Eugenia was recognized with the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery’s Emerging Artist Award.

Both Elise and Eugenia were participating at the event as recipients of the OCAD U TOAF Career Launcher, along with 8 additional recent ILLU and MAAD grads. A full list of recipients can be found below. The Career Launcher recipients were provided with complimentary booths and the opportunity to exhibit in the 58th year of this annual event.

Now in its 58th year, the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair is Canada's largest and longest running juried contemporary outdoor art fair. The TOAF was established to nurture excellence and an entrepreneurial spirit, and to showcase contemporary work to the general public. This free public event showcases works by over 360 exhibitors and attracts 115,000 visitors each year at Toronto's Nathan Phillips Square.

As part of the Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers, the Career Development office supports the professional development of emerging OCAD U creative talent. The Career Launchers program offers unique, high-profile opportunities developed in partnership with industry leaders in order to help senior students and new graduates start their professional practice after school.
