Overview

Alexander Manu is a strategic innovation practitioner, international lecturer and author. He is a Senior Partner at Equilibrant, a boutique consultancy that provides strategic counsel and future based advisory to executive teams in Fortune 500 companies in industries as diverse as consumer packaged goods, media, advertising, mobile communications and manufacturing. He teaches Innovation is a Professor at the Ontario College of Art and Design and in Toronto, a visiting lecturer at the Wallace McCain Institute and since 2007 on the faculty of the Executive Education Centre at the Schulich School of Business. In his client and research work, Alexander is involved in transforming organizations by exploring and defining new competitive spaces, the development of new strategic business competencies and creation of imaginative innovation methods. He believes that the exploration of possibility requires imagination as a prerequisite for strategic change and innovation."For over 20 years Alexander has enabled global companies as diverse as Motorola, LEGO, Whirlpool, Nokia, Navteq and Unilever, to develop policies and strategies that address emerging issues through strategic foresight and pre-competitive business models. Between 2004 and 2007 professor Manu was the founder and director of the Beal Institute for Strategic Creativity at OCADU, responsible for the creation of  original content and methodologies in strategic creativity–and defining Strategic Creativity as a professional capability – and developed programming at the undergraduate and graduatelevel. Alexander ledthedevelopmentofeducationalcontentin undergraduate, graduate and professional development educational programs and initiated and directed the creation of the content for knowldge products such as course ware, business tools and publications. The Institute infused education with new methods to develop broad, integrative thinking, addressed social and environmental issues and contributed to the development of knowledge and economic well-being.
