Avi Dunkelman, AOCA, AGS, graduated from the Ontario College of Art & Design in Toronto in 1980. He was recruited to be part of the design team at Gottschalk + Ash International, a well known design firm in North America and Europe.

In 1981 he moved to Basel Switzerland to pursue his MFA studies and in 1984 he graduated from Alegemine Gewerbesch?le (Basle School of Design). Avi studied under the mentorship of world renown designers and educators such as; Armin Hofmann, Wolfgang Weingart, Kurt Hauert, Andr? G?rtler Max Schnidt and Christian Mengelt whom played a major role in his developmental approach to design and design education. While in Switzerland, he worked at Gottschalk + Ash International, Z?rich office. His thesis project on bilingual languages and letterform design was published in a Swiss magazine, Typografische Monatsbl?tter (TM).Upon his return to Toronto he joined Eskind Waddell and Gottschalk + Ash International. In 1986 he founded his own design firm based in Toronto, Avi Dunkelman Design+Communications Inc. His firm has created a wide variety of projects for clients in Canada, United States, Europe and in the Middle East, including; Asset Management / Miami Florida, Alfred Sung, Bell Canada, Canada Trust, Canada Post Corporation, CGM / Chicago USA, Deloite Touche Tohmatsu, Eldor Consulting / Tel Aviv Israel, IL Casone / Florence Italy, KPMG, Lexton / Z?rich.
