Since joining OCAD in 1985, David Pellettier has taught various sculpture, installation and 3D courses in the Sculpture/Installation and Foundation Programs. He served as the Chair of the Sculpture/ Installation Program from 1990 to 1992. David has an active sculpture and installation art practice with pieces in public and private collections in Canada and abroad. In 1988 he was awarded a one year studio residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris to develop new work and to do research in France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. In 1989, Pellettier was the only non European artist chosen for the exhibition 'Porcelain and Colour - Contemporary Figurative Sculpture' organized by the Goebel Galerie in Germany. The exhibition travelled to the Stadtische Museen Heilbronn, the Badisches Landesmuseum, Karlsruhe, and the Museum der Deutschen Porzellanindustrie, Hohenberg/Eger, Germany. He continues to balance his studio work at the Gibraltar Point Centre for the Arts on Toronto Island and his Sculpture/Installation Program studio teaching.
