Born in Toronto, David began to study graphic design in high-school, and continued his studies in design and painting at Sheridan College. He then apprenticed for several years in a traditional graphic design and communications studio in Toronto.
With over 30 years of experience as a graphic designer, and art director he has worked on a wide range of projects in an equally wide range of disciplines.
He has held the position of Art Director of Canadian House & Home Magazine, The Financial Post Magazine, The Financial Times of Canada, was the start-up Art Director of the National Post's Weekend Post, and served as Associate Art Director on Saturday Night Magazine. He has worked as a designer on numerous others.
David has also long been involved in the Toronto theatre scene and has designed many successful posters for productions at Theatre Passe Muraille, The Canadian Stage Company, Mercury Theatre and the Festival International de Mime de Montreal.
He is currently a consulting designer, specializing in corporate publication design and corporate social responsibility reports. He continues to work in theatre poster design and as a sessional instructor in the Faculty of Design at OCAD.
When he has spare time, David heads to his cottage in the bush near Algonquin Park, and floats around in his vintage Chestnut canoe.
