Commissions

Maria Gabankova has been commissioned to paint many portraits in Canada and U.S.A. Among her sitters are several renowned personalities such as the Czech-Canadian novelists Josef ?kvorecky? and Zdena Salivarov?, Czech poet Karel Kryl, Canadian pianist Anton?n Kub?lek, composer Oskar Morawetz, Dr. J. D. Corbett, principal of Knox College, professor W. Klempa, principal of Presbyterian College, McGill University - Montreal, or NHL hockey player Miroslav Frycer, world ice-skating champion Aja Vrz?nov?, as well as many other prominent Canadians.

Works in private collections in Vancouver, New York, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Kingston as well as in Germany, Czechoslovakia, France, Switzerland and Italy.
