SOCIAL BODY LAB AT TORONTO MAKER FAIRE

The Social Body Lab spent Toronto Mini Maker Faire at Wychwood Barns. The event attracted an estimated 4000 guests, who poured in to look at robots, 3D printers, and of course, wearable electronics. With Nudgeables and Vega-X in tow, we talked to guests about our research, the university, and the ongoing Toronto Wearables Meetup. We created interactive displays where you could hold and touch the pieces, and check out the custom circuit boards.

We shared our table with a new lab member, Robert Tu, the designer and maker of MeU, a wearable LED display. We spent the days displaying tweets about Mini Maker Faire on our shirts.

It was so exciting the get to engage with the public so directly, especially the younger generation who came out in droves. Toronto has an active maker community that just keeps growing, and the Social Body Lab is delighted to be a part of it.

Can’t wait to see you all next year, with new research.
