Craft Futures will connect a group of artists from the Textile Museum of Canada’s WILD exhibition with OCAD University students and recent graduates to participate in one-on-one conversations and on-campus studio visits, offering an platform for direct engagement, relationship building, mentorship and focused conversation.

Garage Restoration - 113 McCaul, 51 McCaul and 49 Affected - Jan 6th until Mid Spring

Pace Parking, the company that owns and runs the parking lot beneath some of our campus buildings is continuing to carry out restoration of the parking garage in the new year, similar to the work that occurred this summer, however this time it is to the deck main drive of P1 Parking level.

 

The work is divided into two phases:

 

Phase One (Possibly affecting 113 McCaul St. Annex Building)

Call For Emerging Artist Facilitators | 2020 Chinatown Lantern Installation

In partnership with the Chinatown BIA and OCAD University, The STEPS Initiative is seeking emerging artists interested in gaining hands-on facilitation skills and supporting the production of a large-scale community lantern installation, part of Chinatown’s 2020 Chinese New Year celebration.

Temporary water shut-off, Rosalie Sharp Pavilion: November 29

Water supply to 115 McCaul St. will be temporarily unavailable on Friday, November 29 from 6 a.m. until approximately 10:30 a.m.

Fire Alarm Testing - 100 McCaul November 27th, 12:00 midnight – 8:00 am

As part of the renovation of the Fabrication Studios, on November 27th, 2019, there will be a contractor on site verifying the fire alarm system at 100 McCaul Street.  This will involve alarms and possibly other noises sounding throughout building 12:00 midnight – 8:00 am.  Evacuation is not expected to be required.  Hearing protection will be available at the Security desk in the main lobby to minimize disruption and inconvenience.  With any questions or comments, please contact creativecitycampus@ocadu.ca

Mayor Tory makes public art announcement at OCAD University

Today, City of Toronto Mayor John Tory proclaimed 2021 as the Year of Public Art, a year-long celebration of art and community. The announcement was made at OCAD University, Canada's largest and most comprehensive Canadian university of art, design and media. Working in partnership with artists, arts organizations and communities city-wide, the City will engage residents and visitors in a city-wide recognition of public art.
