The MAAD Speaker Series has invited Steven Heinemann:
Canadian ceramic artist Steven Heinemann lives and works near Cookstown, Ontario. Since completing his MFA (Alfred University, 1983) he has taught widely in Canada and the US, with numerous international residencies. Heinemann has exhibited continuously since his fist solo exhibition at the Ontario Crafts Council in 1982. His most recent exhibition was at the David Kaye Gallery in Toronto in 2015. He is currently represented by five galleries in Canada, the US, and Europe, and his work is in numerous public collections, including the Victoria and Albert Museum (London), Museum of Fine Arts (Boston) and the Icheon World Ceramic Centre (Korea). Heinemann has received many national and international awards, including the Bavarian State Prize (Germany), the Juror's Award (Mino, Japan), and Fletcher Challenge (New Zealand). In 1996, he was granted the Saidye Bronfman Award, Canada's highest recognition of achievement in contemporary craft.

The MAAD Speakers Series is an initiative of the Material Art and Design program at OCAD University, and generously funded through artist donations from Project 31.
