ABOUT PROUD AT OCAD U:
PROUD at OCAD U is an LGBTQ+ student organization dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive and positive community at OCAD University. We are committed to an intersectional, diverse approach and strive to provide LGBTQ+ students on campus with support and resources, ways to create art and design, and celebrate our identities through meetings, events, and other initiatives. In addition, PROUD at OCAD U is a resource for students, staff and faculty who are not part of the LGBTQ+ community to learn how to better support and accommodate their students and colleagues; however, emphasis will always be placed on the LGBTQ+ student population.

Book Launch for Slow Twisting with the anonymous author present who will be interviewed by Judith Doyle
Game and narrative designer Sophia Park deconstructs the relationships formed between humans and increasingly-sentient technologies, while filmmaker Cara Mumford re-orients human relationships to the land in exploring the future of Indigenous sovereignty. Moderated by Karl Schroeder, a science-fiction writer and professional futurist, this conversation will bring to light how representations of the future work to alter the present.

MAAD Faculty Dorie Millerson and Lynne Heller are presenting Research Wednesdays at the Learning Zone.
What does “handmade” mean in the digital age? OCAD U faculty Lynne Heller and Dorie Millerson (MAAD chair) will consider the place of digital craft at OCAD University from the perspectives of faculty, staff and technicians. Developed organically out of the everyday experiences of practitioners at OCAD U in Material Art & Design (MAAD), a department rooted in craft processes and materiality, the presentation will question how digital craft methods are changing teaching and learning in the studio and speculate how to understand objects that are produced by digital tools instead of through embodied making methods.
OCAD U sessional Sustainable Practices instructor Sayeh-Dastgheib-Beheshti will be leading a hands-on Native Plants seed treatment workshop, to get you ready for spring gardening.
OCAD U graduate alumni will share their thesis and MRP experiences, including useful strategies and worthwhile insights they’ve learned about the process.
Presented by PROUD at OCAD U
Crazy Dames, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), Evergreen and Gladki Planning Associates have collaborated to launch The Living City art exhibition.
