OCAD U Repair Café

October 8, 2019 | 11am-2pm | 100 McCaul St. lobby

Bring a sweater with a hole, a necklace with a wonky clasp, a finicky gadget and learn simple repairs!
Have a talent for fixing things? In Jewellery, Textiles, or beyond- come share your skills!

What’s a Fixer?

A Fixer is a volunteer who is skilled at repairing household items, anything from socks to necklaces. Students, faculty, and staff are all welcome!

What’s a Repair Café?

Members of the community will bring their items to the Repair Café where they will get help fixing it- from you! Most importantly, community members will learn from you- the fixers- how to do it themselves. At the Repair Café, fix anything from jewelry to lamps to computers and clothes – you name it!

It’s free and all are welcome!

Hosted as part of OCAD U’s commitment to sustainability, Repair Café aims to reduce the waste that’s sent to landfill and to change society’s throw-away mindset.

Interested? Questions? Contact Victoria Ho, Sustainability Coordinator, Office of Diversity, Equity & Sustainability Initiatives at vho@ocadu.ca.
