Biological Urbanism: An Opera of Disciplines from Architecture, Landscape, Urban Design, Biology, Engineering and Art

Terreform ONE (Open Network Ecology) is a New York-based design group that promotes environmentally conscious urban planning. Its projects are an exciting mixture of architecture, landscape, urban design, biology, engineering and art and it is dedicated to finding innovative solutions for sustainability in energy, transportation, city infrastructure and waste management. The works featured in this exhibition at Onsite [at] OCAD U highlight Terreform ONE’s interest in incorporating living organisms in design, and advancing the notion of sustainability beyond a popularized mainstream rhetoric. www.terreform.org

Want to make your own little green world? Join us and create your personal, creative terrarium, a little piece of oasis in jars for your indoor spaces. Learn the tips and tricks on growing moss, lichen and air plants. Best way to grow for beginners or Black Thumbs as they are super low maintenance varieties! Hosted by Che Chi Liu, Tom Doughty and Mary Ma of grOCAD.

Are you prepared for the Design Career Fair on March 3? Wow employers by attending this half-day intensive series that covers all aspects of presenting your creative work in a career fair context. On February 18, the Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers will be hosting workshops on resume and portfolio tips, and communication and presentation skills to help you bring your A game to the Fair.
Are you curious how entrepreneurship applies to artists and designers? These three workshops will help you understand how to start your creative business. Light refreshments will be provided. All sessions will take place at the CEAD, level 3, 115 McCaul Street.
