The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce the return of the Akin Collective Career Launcher for Drawing & Painting students in their graduating term. Students are invited to apply for this opportunity and one successful applicant will be awarded $ 2,000 in credits to go towards a studio space at Akin’s inspiring shared workspaces in 2019-2020!
This is an amazing opportunity to become part of a larger creative community and gain access to the excellent multidisciplinary facilities that Akin Collective has to offer. Applications will be reviewed by Akin’s Directors, faculty members, and staff from the Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers during GradEx.
On February 15, OCAD University unveiled a unique exhibition in the boardroom of the Honourable Deb Matthews, Minister of Advanced Education and Skills Development (MAESD). Curated by recent OCAD U graduate Delilah Rosier, the exhibition features 12 accomplished OCAD U student artists, giving viewers a sense of the unique, interdisciplinary works created at the university.

DRPT Thesis welcomes Hamilton-based painter Jane Corrigan. She has had solo exhibitions at White Columns, Kerry Schuss, Retrospective and Feuer/Mesler, New York. Her paintings have appeared in group shows at White Columns, Sikkema Jenkins & Co., 247365, and Wilkinson Gallery, among others. She was a 2012-13 Fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, a 2013-14 resident at the Marie Walsh Sharpe Space Program, as well as a 2013 recipient of the Louis Comfort Tiffany Award.
