OCAD's Campaign Goal: $15,000

Join OCAD's effort to raise funds in support of United Way Toronto! United Way Toronto works to improve the lives of many by building strong partnerships with community leaders, business, labour and government, allowing it to target the critical social issues affecting the quality of life in Toronto.

United Way Toronto's network of more than 200 health and social service agencies delivers quality services and programs to every corner of our city to impact the following areas: employment, health care support, hunger and homelessness prevention, neighbourhoods, newcomers, people with addictions, people with AIDS/HIV, people with disabilities, women who have been abused, seniors and young children. In 2008, United Way remains focused on three priority areas—strengthening neighbourhoods, creating opportunities for youth and helping to fulfill the potential of newcomers. OCAD’s 2008 United Way Campaign Launch

Pumpkin Carving Contest & Sale, part of the Student Life Fair
Carving from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
($2 registration and materials fee)

Sale of Carved Pumpkins: 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. (all proceeds to the United Way)

Support the United Way by bidding on same amazing silent auction items while enjoying hors d’oeuvres, courtesy of A la Carte.

Silent Auction items include: VIA Rail Voucher to Montreal, Tickets to the Toronto Symphony, Hillebrand Holiday Entertaining Packages, AC/DC concert tickets courtesy of Live Nation, a CTV prize package, plus much more!

Campus Life & Career Services has arranged for a bin to be placed next to the elevators in the main lobby. Please donate non-perishable food items for those less-fortunate during the holiday season.

Examples: peanut butter, baby food and formula, canned fruit or vegetables, canned fish or meat, pasta and canned sauce, rice, lentils, cans of stew or hearty soup, powdered or canned milk, cheese spread, cans of beans, boxed macaroni and cheese, or your family's favourite nutritious foods.

Please drop off any donations by Monday, December 17, 2007

If you prefer, you can mail donation cheques to: Daily Bread Food Bank, 191 New Toronto Street, Toronto, ON M8V 2E7. Your dollar buys twice as much food when Daily Bread does the shopping.
