On Thursday, December 7, OCAD University welcomed the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario to the university’s new flagship professional gallery, Onsite Gallery. The Lieutenant Governor was taken on a private tour of the inaugural exhibitions, raise a flag: works from the Indigenous Art Collection (2000 - 2015), curated by Ryan Rice, Delaney Chair in Indigenous Visual Culture, OCAD U and For This Land: Inside Elemental featuring: 2Ro Media: Jackson 2bears and Janet Rogers. The exhibitions, running through to December 10, 2017,  feature selections from Canada’s Indigenous Art Collection, one of the most important and comprehensive collections of contemporary Indigenous art in the world, and a new video installation by 2Ro Media.

The new 8,000 square-foot venue is the university’s primary public exhibition space, with free admission for the public. The Sunshine Eaters, an original multi-sensory, opens on January 10, 2018.
