2nd Year OCAD U Student Wins Society of Illusrators Gold Medal!

Paul Dallas, Chair Illustration Program is delighted to announce that Toko Hosoya, 2nd-year ILLU major, has just won the Gold for Uncommissioned Illustration with her work, Earthstar!

Congratulations, Toko! It’s an exceptional accomplishment.

Toko’s work will be exhibited in the Illustrators 60 Part One Show (Advertising, Institutional, Surface/ Product Design, and Uncommissioned categories) starting Friday, January 5th at the Museum of American Illustration and published in its Annual. The Annual will feature 400 pieces of the most outstanding works created throughout each year. Gold and silver medals will be presented to the illustrators and art directors for each category at the Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony.

Members of this year’s jury hailed from the Whitney Museum, the New York Times and Chronicle Books.

The Illustrator's Process - 6th Floor Display Case

This month features the work of Jon Todd. Jon is an internationally recognized artist and illustrator working in a wide variety of mediums. As he creates his work he deliberately breaks from the standard process and rules associated with various media. This display looks at a number of different techniques and processes that Jon uses to create his innovative work.


Jon's work will be on view until November 20th.
