Fourth-Year Week: Staying Well in the Challenging World of Work

fourth-year week
Monday, March 10, 2008 - 6:00pm to 7:00pm

Don't become a statistic. Young workers are 24% more likely to get hurt in the first few months of a new job! Whether you are working for yourself or somebody else, if you get sick or hurt yourself badly, your wallet will suffer. Learn how to recognize problems before they bite you. From blocked fire exits to how to use a fire extinguisher; asbestos and mould in your workplace or living space; your rights and responsibilities as a worker; the importance of labels and educating yourself; ladders and lifting heavy objects; stress and Personal Protective Equipment, you need to know where to find information. Come and listen, ask questions, and join in discussion.

Presented by Ted Rickard, Manager, Health & Safety.
