INTAC, the International Art Collaboration, is an art collective founded in 2010, which consists of young artists from Tampere, Toronto, Seoul and Berlin. INTAC: Spotlight is the 7th exhibition of INTAC. The exhibition takes place in public spaces and is organized in collaboration with Backlight Photo Festival. The exhibition is open from September 1st to September 15th 2014.
INTAC: Spotlight exhibits 14 art projects with art works from 43 artists. The artworks exhibited in Backlight examine the concepts of identity and reality. The works showcase different approaches to collaborative art making. Some of the works in INTAC: Spotlight have previously been exhibited in Scotia Bank Contact 2014 photography festival in Toronto, as well as in Illum Gallery in Seoul.
INTAC produces mainly video and photography works. In Tampere, the pop-up gallery Fake Shop and the artworks are brought in the middle of public spaces.

INTAC bases its work on open collaboration via the Internet. In their work, the artists utilise social media. This digital method of working introduces a new way to approach artistic work. Communication and multicultural meanings found in the art pieces are prominent aspects of INTAC.

The artists work round the clock in every timezone. The concept of time becomes hazed, especially during the shared video calls in which the participants are simultaneously present during the morning, day and evening, depending on their current location.
The first INTAC happend in 2010 as a common course of OCAD University and TAMK Fine art degree programme. Afterwards the collaboration has been expanded to Korea and Germany.
