The nomination period for faculty positions on the OCAD University Senate has been extended.

Eligible candidates may now submit a nomination for positions until Thursday, April 2, 2015, at 12:00 p.m. noon.

Board of Governors positions: Internal call for nominations

Permanent staff and managers: consider becoming a member of the OCAD U Board of Governors. Nominations are now open for a two-year term commencing July 1, 2015. Two internal positions are available, one of which is elected from and by permanent managers at OCAD U; and the other, from and by permanent unionized staff and permanent staff.

OCAD University’s Board of Governors is responsible for governing and managing the affairs of the university and has the necessary powers to do so, including the power to determine mission, vision and values of the University, appoint and remove the President and Chancellor, approve the annual budget of the University and monitor its implementation, establish administrative and operational policies and procedures, as well as other specific powers. The Board consists of members from the external community as well as executive, management, staff, faculty and student representatives drawn from the OCAD U community.

Nominations are currently open for the following positions on the Board of Governors starting July 1, 2015:

·       One (1) Permanent Manager position (two-year term)

·       One (1) Permanent Staff position (two-year term)

Honorary Degree nominations close January 30

OCAD U will close nominations for its 2015 Honorary Degrees this Friday, January 30.

All members of the OCAD U community, including alumni, students, faculty and administrative staff were invited earlier this month to submit nominations for this, the highest award conferred by the university. Now as the deadline approaches, community members are reminded of the opportunity to nominate individuals who have made a significant contribution to the fields of art, design and culture.

Notable past recipients have included Will Alsop (2004), Margaret Atwood (2009), Adrienne Clarkson (2006), Douglas Coupland (2013), Karim Rashid (2006) and Buffy Saint Marie (2011).

Organized by the Office of the Vice-President, Academic, the recipient will be announced in advance of OCAD University’s Spring Convocation ceremony at Roy Thomson Hall on June 11, 2015.

Call for Student Nominations to OCAD U Senate

Nominations are now being accepted for several student positions on the OCAD University Senate.

The Senate is the primary academic governing body of the university and, along with its many committees, it is in charge of all matters pertaining to OCAD U’s academic strategic planning, academic standards, student affairs, and any other such matters relating to academic issues. The membership of Senate consists predominantly of senior faculty but also includes student representation and members of the academic administration.

Students play a very important role at Senate.
Your voice is needed in all academic matters at OCAD University.
Participate. Represent Your Peers. Have Your Voice Heard.

Eligible candidates may submit a nomination for these positions until Friday, September 19, 2014.
