Accents Bookstore in collaboration with OCAD University’s Euphonically OSO invites you to a FREE celebration of Black art stories through motion pictures.
Along with the film screening Moi Aussi, there will be an exclusive artist talk with the film director and visionary Abdoulaye Kone.
Robert Small will be selling exclusive prints of his 2014 Legacy Poster as well as his Nelson Mandela tribute Bookmark.
Abdoulaye Kone will be exhibiting and auctioning original paintings of special artist, Adamo Traore from Cote d'Ivoire. All proceeds will go back to the artists.
The night will also feature live performances by Baro Dununba drum ensemble and dancers and a special performance by singer, songwriter Mzz Sarah G.
There will be VENDORS selling a range of products: books, jewellery, clothing, original art pieces and art prints, exclusive DVDs, shea butter, natural cosmetic products and more.
About the Film of the Night:

Moi Aussi is a social documentary about Adamo Traore, a disabled artist from Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. Adamo has overcome all obstacles to create a livelihood through his painting. The film follows Adamo’s life, explores his daily routine, how he overcomes his physical shortcoming and the community where he lives. The story reveals how he learnt to paint and make a living out of his art.
Moi Aussi was filmed in 2012 by Abdoulaye Kone an Ivoiro-Canadian filmmaker. It has been shot in French and released in both a French and English version for African, Canadian and international audiences.

Moi Aussi est un documentaire social d’Adamo Traoré, un artiste handicapé vivant à Abidjan Côte d'Ivoire. Adamo a surmonté tous les obstacles pour créer des moyens de subsistance à travers sa peinture. Le film suit la vie d’Adamo, explore sa routine quotidienne, comment il surmonte son handicap physique dans la communauté où il vit. L'histoire révèle comment il a appris à peindre et faire une vie avec son art.
Moi Aussi a été tourné en 2012 par Abdoulaye Kone un cinéaste Ivoiro-canadienne. Il a été tourné en français. Il sera publié en deux versions, françaises et anglaises pour les auditeurs africains, canadiens et internationaux.
