grOCAD Propagation Workshop

Tuesday, October 22, 2019 - 2:00pm to 4:30pm

Join us for a fun hands-on plant propagation workshop, Tuesday Oct 22 from 2:00 – 4:30 pm.

Learn basic propagation techniques such as cuttings, root division and layering. Plant propagation is a great skill to have; it saves you money and it's a great way to share plants with friends and family.

All the materials will be provided. Participants which will take home a plant which they propagated during the workshop. Open to all OCAD U students, faculty and staff.

grOCAD is a group of students, faculty and staff who are working together to integrate plant life into our everyday experience by cultivating areas in and around OCAD U’s campus. grOCAD’s aim is to increase healthy food accessibility, encourage discourse about how plants improve quality of life and heighten awareness to urban agricultural practices.

Celebrate Spring at grOCAD's plant propagation workshop! Join us at the Learning Zone next Wednesday April 3rd to learn the basics of plant propagation using seeds and cuttings.

It’s a hands-on workshop so be prepared to get your hands dirty between 2 – 4 pm

Open to all in the OCAD U community - students, faculty and staff

Gardening with Native Plants

Now is the perfect time to a get a jump on Spring and start native plant seeds for next year’s gardening season. This will be the first of a two-part workshop.

Native plants have evolved and adapted to our local growing conditions, making them perfect additions to your garden. 

Join us for a free, hands-on workshop (while supplies last) where we share tips, techniques and seeds to allow you to:

  • Learn about the benefits of gardening with native plant
  • Get to know varieties that can thrive in your conditions, and
  • Learn how to cold-stratify perennial seeds and plant them
