To Valerie Solanas and Marilyn Monroe In Recognition of Their Desperation

Thursday, February 14, 2019 - 12:00pm to 5:00pm

Public Rehearsal: OCAD, February 14

Public Recordings is holding a public rehearsal of an orchestral work from 1970 by the radical composer Pauline Oliveros (1932-2016) in the Great Hall at OCAD. The work's title is “To Valerie Solanas and Marilyn Monroe In Recognition of Their Desperation.” The final performance will be in the Council Chambers of Toronto City Hall on Feb. 17, and in the lead up we’re holding a series of free, public rehearsals in different locations around the city.

At 4pm on February 14, all members of the OCAD community, students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in a final performance of the score to conclude the rehearsal.
