Ginette Legaré: Running out of Ink

Wednesday, April 10, 2019 - 10:00am to Saturday, May 18, 2019 - 5:00pm

Ginette Legaré’s solo exhibition, Running out of ink, presents a series of new wall-mounted works made out of discarded zip ties picked up during random walks and bike rides in urban and rural settings. In keeping with the artist’s interest in using diverse methods of speaking through discards and other environmentally dispersed opportunities, many trails and connections became allegorically available along the way. Her series of ink-deprived sketches alludes to moments seized and possible insights gained— wandering, looking, thinking.

The artist would like to acknowledge financial support from the Ontario Arts Council, an agency of the Government of Ontario— and of the Centre d’artistes Vaste et Vague Residency program.

Running out of ink, will take place from April 10 to May 18, with an opening reception on Saturday April 13 , 2019,  from 3 to 5 p.m., at Birch Contemporary.

Birch Contemporary is located at 129 Tecumseth Street in Toronto, and gallery hours are from Wednesday to Friday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
