OCAD University is joining forces with York University and the University of Toronto to participate in Ryerson University’s Lifeline Syria Challenge, creating a unified response by the GTA universities. The initiative’s goal is to bring 25 Syrian refugee families – or 100 individuals – to Canada.

OCAD U has set an initial target of sponsoring one Syrian family at an estimated cost of $27,000. Dr. Sara Diamond has spearheaded the effort with a $5,000 commitment. Visit our fundraising page to see how you can contribute.

Members of our community have been expressing interest in taking action. We will be forming a working group of students, staff and faculty in the coming days to mobilize our fundraising activities. If you are interested in taking part, please contact Paola Aron-Badin at paronbadin@ocadu.ca.
