The 2008 UAAC conference is hosted by York University's Department of Visual Arts. However, it will not be held at the York U campus. York has partnered with other educational and arts institutions and has moved the conference proceedings and special events to a variety of different venues in downtown Toronto.

Reception celebrating the launch of the digital Canadian Art Database in its new home in the Faculty of Fine Arts at York University.
The flagship project of the Centre for Contemporary Canadian Art, the Canadian Art Database is unique visual culture resource. Through images, texts, video and audio clips and related archival materials, it is documenting the Canadian art scene since 1960, focusing on key Canadian art institutions, organizations, artist groups and professional artists, designers, art writers and curators who have helped shape it.

Design for the Other 90%: A Panel Discussion on issues of design and extreme affordability, presented in conjunction with the exhibition Design for the Other 90% organized by the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum.
