KAPSULA Press partners with OCAD University for a special issue

Wednesday, September 16, 2015 - 3:00pm

A special edition of KAPSULA Magazine will feature a selection of texts in association with OCAD University's Contemporary Art, Design and New Media Art Histories MA program at OCAD University. The issue will be released on September 18, 2015.

KAPSULA collaborates with OCAD University's Contemporary Art, Design and New Media Histories MA program (CADN) to publish interviews, papers and image-based works from their 2015 conference, Multiple Li(v)es of Art/ists &... Disciplinary Fuzziness and the Future(s) of Art Criticism. The conference, held March 27-28, 2015, featured Keynote presentations from Dr. Sarah Thornton, author of 33 Artists in 3 Acts and Seven Days in the Art World and Canadian performance artist Brendan Fernandes. The conference explored the boundaries, binaries, and interdisciplinary practices that condition contemporary art and society.  Makers and thinkers participating in the conference addressed the ways art and its many disciplinary iterations continue to morph and change.

Special issues of KAPSULA have been created in collaboration with University of Waterloo Art Gallery, Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography and the Art History Graduate Student Association of York University (AHGSAY). Released monthly, KAPSULA Magazine currently publishes more content focused on critical issues in contemporary art than any other publication in Toronto.
