MAAD Rugs at Weavers Art Showroom

Nine rugs designed by OCADU students in the Material Art & Design program are featured in the Weavers Art's flagship showroom at 1400 Castlefield Avenue and on their website in the "New and Exciting" collection.
 

Although the rugs are currently up in the showroom, there will also be a launch in the fall. Congratulations to students with rugs on display!

Michael Pourvakil, President and owner of Weavers Art, also gave out three prizes for rug designs to the students of MAAD-2009 Surface Design 1.

Will Alsop, the British architect, visual artist and academic who designed OCAD University’s iconic Sharp Centre for Design, died on Saturday May 12, 2018 at the age of 70 after a brief illness. Will Alsop’s buildings, most recently Finch West and Pioneer Village subway station, are renowned for visual clarity, playfulness and a mix of sculptural and painterly detail.
