OCAD University has signed a Strategic Mandate Agreement (SMA2) with the Ontario Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development (MAESD) for 2017/2018 to 2019/2020. The new agreement recognizes the university’s leadership role as Ontario’s only art, design and digital media university. SMA2 will support the university’s academic plan, vision, mission and growth, while formulating accountability measures to support those objectives and goals.

A signed contract between the provincial government and each university, SMA2 details aspirations and plans for each university over a three-year period. The agreement has five areas of focus: student experience; teaching and learning excellence; access and equity; research excellence and impact; and innovation, economic development and community engagement.
