Sephardi Voices: A Canadian Refuge


Bev Dywan, of the Industrial Design faculty, is designing an exhibit at the JCC (750 Spadina at Bloor) about Sephardic Jews, called: Sephardi Voices: A Canadian Refuge.

The exhibit features the photography of Liam Sharp, and tells a story of Jews displaced from Islamic countries in the Middle East after the State of Israel was formed in 1948. Hundreds of thousands of Sephardi Jews joined the forced exodus to make their homes in Israel, Canada, the US and Europe. This exhibit features Canadian Sephardim.

The exhibit runs from Oct 2 Oct 29, 2019.
