Preparing your Portfolio: ART

Thursday, February 20, 9:00 - 10:30 AM

This presentation and demo will discuss the elements needed not only for building a successful online portfolio, but also how to present and promote your work to align with your goals beyond OCADU. Lead by Stanzie Tooth, a professional artist, former gallery director and Format Portfolio Specialist, this presentation will focus on fine art portfolios and ideas for promoting a fine art practice.

After the initial presentation, a demonstration will be given on the Format web building platform, showing students how to build their portfolios. Students are encouraged to bring their laptops to follow along with the demonstration and to ask questions specific to their Format sites.

 

Professional Writing for your Website

Thursday, February 20, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Learn to write about your practice for your professional website. This presentation will look at: “about me” statements, bios, artist statements, CVs and more.

Through this presentation students will; learn about essential writing for their website, help to frame their thinking about their goals for their practice, and how to relate these goals through their professional writing.
